A sage about tomatoes

The tomatoes have trusses developing and flowers appeared. I was quite letting planting these this year and my greenhouse is some what in the shade due to being next to some large trees, but the plants are doing well

This flower is on a tomatoes variety called "latah" which is an early type and when i grow it normally it does ondeed produce tomatoes very early indeed

This variety is gardeners delight

The sage plant is still in a 9inch pot and doing very well

Weather report - Sunny all day and generally very nice, Wakefield, England

  1. Some of my Tomato plants are now blooming but they are staying small. At least for now, I suspect that will change.

  2. mine too. they are not growing as quick as I would like, but I say that every year. I am just happy to see the first flower in there. I will say if you have short summer I would fully recommend Latah as a variety to try, they dont take long at all to produce toms.

  3. We here actually have a growing season not much shorter than yours here. We are fairly south compared to the rest of Canada. Actually the 42 Par. that puts us in line with southern France, but not nearly as warm of course!!!!!! Nova Scotia has the same weather as you do in England.

  4. Just looked at a map. I need to get out more. I never realised that some parts of Canada were as far down as that.. WOW. Some parts are as far down as Northern Spain and you get weather like us in England!!!

  5. yes we here like to point out that one third of the USA is North of us. I some times wish in the winter that we had weather more like Spain. I am almost at the most southern point of the country. Just a few hours drive actually.

  6. LOL. I never looked at it like that. a third is a lot of space.Spanish is weather is good any time of year. I was there a few years back in February getting drunk with friends, we were in shorts and t shirts and the locals were in heavy jumpers and large coats. made me smile.

  7. Yep we go to Florida and Bermuda and do the same thing and they are freezing. Lots of fun for sure on that score. Here is a little fact about Canada. Our Nation is actually larger than Europe. I think it is how it is measured threw the Ural Mountains. We here hardly understand how big our country is. In fact Canada's coast line is longer than the shore line of the Pacific Ocean.
