Rhubarb Pie Inspiration

After being inspired yesterday by another blogger making Rhubarb Pie, I could not resist having ago myself. Annoyingly I cannot find the blog that I found yesterday. Go figure.

And the inside looks like this.... Makes gardening worth it.




I cheated a little, I added some raisins, prunes and dates and It was awesome! I think this shot does the pie justice and I can tell you it tasted so much better than that.

  1. Nice pie, I had used up the last of my rhubarb from last year the other day. Now to enjoy this years harvest in a couple of weeks. I never thought of using raisins and prunes in this way I must try it. I always did the apple or strawberries as a filler.

  2. I fully recommend the raisins, prunes and dates, they taste great. Funny thing is I never thought about strawberries or apple with rhubarb. I will have to try that. Mum does apples and blackberry pie which is great but thats another story.

  4. it is. had 3 slices and my girlfriend doesnt like rhubarb pie!!!! so took the rest to work and got the thumbs up. Cant eat it all. gotta watch the figure!

  6. LOL. I felt so podged over the weekend, I can tell you. Also made an egg custard pie from goose eggs. It tasted excellent.

  7. You know, I've never had rhubarb pie. I've never even had rhubarb. I'm growing some now though. They're just tiny little plants. I'm hoping that they'll push through in all this heat down here. Great looking pie :)
