I have high hopes for a good strawberry crop this year. I have had a good strawberry crop for the last 3 years so it can only get better.
The plants above are three years old and a June bearing variety. I dont know the exact one but I think possibly Cambridge vigour or Cambridge favourite. A friend at work gave me some runners and since then I have had hundreds of plants from them. They generally provide strawberries throughout June to early July.
These are new ones and flowering already.... Awesome. The variety is Albion and I purchased 20 bear rooted plants a couple of months back from Ebay at I think £8 inc delivery. These are an ever bearing variety. They should fruit through out the Summer not just June. They have started producing flowers but I keep nipping them out to strengthen the plant. They need to be in the ground sooner rather than later. I also have two other varieties of strawberries.
