Mange Tout is the only French I know!!!

I have tried growing pea's this year and Mange Tout variety called Bijou and I am very impressed with them. They have grown quickly and are producing an abundance of crop. I have never grown this before and planted approx 8 seedlings in a large pot. As you can see below lots of pea's

I purchased a blackcurrant bush earlier on this year from Lidl. well a barerooted stick would describe it more appropriately. The plant is growing well and I have high hopes of getting blackcurrants next year. The variety is "Ojebyn"

The next fruit bush that is growing nicely, is my blueberry bush variety "Goldtraube" It was purchased as a half dead just growing plant from Wilkinsons and it is coming along in leaps and bounds. I dont think it will make a large enough size to fruit next year but who knows. Watch this space.

Some up and some downs

A bit of a disappointment this year was my gooseberry bush "red dessert, earlier on in the year the plant had lots of baby gooseberries on. The trouble is, they never got any bigger, just turned red. I am fairly sure they should have got a lot bigger. I believe the pot they were in was to small for the plant, so I think the plant did not get enough water during the growing season. It has now been moved to a larger pot

Pea's - Champion of England. This is the first time I have grown peas and I am very impressed. I will be seed saving some of these pea's as they taste great and have grown very well in a pot. I have some others called Bijou. They are mange tout peas and I am equally as impressed with these plants to

limnanthes "poached egg plant" - After another blogger "Flighty" mentioned these plants. I thought I would try them. They are very quick at growing and produce very nice flowers. I will be growing these again next year as I find the flower very attractive.

The bees are looking healthy

Had a quick peak at the bees this afternoon, there wasnt much activity at the entrance so I just took the top off. No fears.... lots of bees as you can see

I still dont know if I am queenless yet though. I will do a full inspection next Sunday I hope. weather allowing


My peas are growing very nicely but no flowers yet. These are a mange tout variety called "bijou"

The mint in tubs are growing very well to. This is a lime mint

I have I think 6 varieties on mint in tubs like this including catmint "nepeta racemose". grapefruit mint, apple mint, pineapple mint and eau de cologne mint

Achocha... bless you

the  Achocha plant is growing very well. I grow have grown one every year for the past 3. The variety I grow is called "fat baby"

Shortly this will be planted against the fence, as it is an avid climber

I have planted my peas in a tub with some 6ft canes. This is Bijou variety. They are all growing quickly and I am happy with their progress. This is the first year I have grown pea's

Peas are coming on nicely and so are most things....

The peas are growing well, these are the bijou and champion of England varieties. I am very happy with them so far and they are now outside

The Jerusalem Artichoke is also growing very quickly, I have some more at my fathers and it is only just poking out of the ground where as these are away

This is the kiwi cutting I took, not looking great, it is sat in a pot that is sat in a tray with water in constantly. I will keep posting progress

Pea's Germinated

Pea seeds planted a few days ago, Bijou and Champion of England have germinated. Very happy about that, as this will be my first attempt at growing pea's
